We have arrested two men and seized cash and drugs following a stop check in Everton yesterday afternoon, Monday 8 July.
At around 4.30pm, officers sighted an Audi on County Road, occupants of which were reportedly beeping the horn at passing female pedestrians. Officers stopped the vehicle on St Domingo Road, and carried out a search.
More than £4000 in cash was recovered, along with bags of cannabis and a hammer. The driver tested positive for cocaine and cannabis. The car was seized for further forensic enquiries.
A 33-year-old man from Everton was arrested on suspicion of drug driving, possession of an offensive weapon, money laundering, possession of cannabis and excessive use of a horn.
A 28-year-old man of no fixed abode was arrested on suspicion of money laundering, possession of an offensive weapon, possession of cannabis, obstructing police.
Both men were taken to police stations for questioning and have now been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
