Merseyside Police are continuing to appeal for information following a firearms discharge and stabbing in Gateacre on the evening of Saturday 24th August.
Officers were called to Grange Lane at around 9.30pm following reports that a 39 year-old man had suffered stab wounds.
The man was taken to hospital where his injuries were examined and not thought to be life threatening. He has since been released from hospital.
Following a search of the area it was confirmed a firearms discharge had taken place close to the Black Bull public house. Nobody was injured during the incident but a white van is believed to have left the area a short time later, driving over a grass verge.
Detectives are appealing for anyone who was in the area who witnessed either incident or captured anything significant on dash-cam or mobile phone footage to contact us as they may have information which is vital to the investigation.
Detective Inspector Paul Nilsen said: “We believe there would have been a number of people in the area that night who may have information which could assist us.
“I would ask anyone who hasn’t already spoken to us to come forward as they may have important information. We are particularly keen to speak to anyone who captured anything significant on dash-cam footage.”
