We have arrested a 15 year-old male following a police pursuit in the Huyton area last night, Thursday 1st August.
At 10.20pm officers sighted a Vauxhall Mokka on Kingsheath Avenue and activated emergency lights but the vehicle made off.
A short time later other patrols began following the car and a short pursuit began. The car stopped in Old Riding and three males ran away from the vehicle. The car was later confirmed as having been stolen from the Norris Green area on July 30th and was on false number plates.
One male was discovered by a police dog hiding in the rear garden of a house in Haydn Road and arrested on suspicion of burglary, possession of a bladed article, possession of a controlled drug Class B, drug driving, dangerous driving and failing to stop.
He is currently in custody where he will be questioned by officers.
Knowsley Community Policing Chief Inspector Phil Mullally said: “Officers were in the Knowsley area last night as part of Operation Castle which is our forcewide campaign to combat burglaries.
“We have had considerable success in our campaign thanks to the vigilance of our officers and the vital information which receive from members of the public.
“I would appeal to anyone who has information about burglaries in their area or if they know where stolen property is being stored to contact us either directly @MerPolCC, call 101 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
