Four charged following stop of suspected stolen car from Wirral to Liverpool on Wednesday

We have arrested and charged four males and seized a suspected stolen car following an incident in Wirral and Liverpool on Wednesday, 21 August.

At around 10.20pm, officers sighted a suspected stolen Nissan X-Trail travelling through the Birkenhead Tunnel towards Liverpool. The vehicle was stopped by Roads Policing officers in Islington, Liverpool City Centre and two suspects were detained. Following an area search by officers and the dog unit, two more suspects were detained in nearby gardens.

Following enquiries, four males have now been charged as follows:

18-year-old Jack O'Connor of Bridge Street, Birkenhead was charged with robbery; burglary dwelling; making off without payment; and aggravated UTMV
21-year-old Callum Carr of Amelia Close in Islington, Liverpool as charged with robbery and aggravated UTMV (being carried)
18-year-old Lewis Carr of Amelia Close in Islington, Liverpool as charged with robbery and aggravated UTMV (being carried)
A 17-year-old boy from Liscard was charged with robbery; burglary dwelling; making off without payment; dangerous driving; driving with no licence or insurance; and aggravated UTMW

All four will appear this morning (Friday, 23 August) at Liverpool Magistrates Court.
