Appeal for witnesses following cash in transit robbery in Croxteth

News   •   Aug 07, 2019 12:11 BST

We are appealing for witnesses following a cash in transit robbery in the early hours of yesterday morning, Tuesday 6th August.

At around 3am two males armed with knives approached a security van in Croxteth Hall Park. Threats were made to a member of staff and the males made off on foot with a quantity of cash.

Nobody was injured during the incident.

An investigation is underway and CCTV and forensic enquiries are being carried out in the local area.

One of the males is described as being of skinny build, around 5ft 10in or 5ft 11in tall with his hood up.

Detective Inspector Jennie Beck said: “I would appeal to anyone who was in the area around Croxteth park, or the neighbouring estates, who saw anyone or anything suspicious to contact us.

“Nobody was hurt during the incident and it is believed that the men made off on foot so I would also appeal to anyone who was out and about in the early hours, possibly in a car or taxi who may have captured something on dash-cam footage to get in touch.”

Anyone with information is asked to DM @MerPolCC, call 101 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 quoting reference 19100433145.
