Appeal for information following robbery in Bootle

News   •   May 22, 2019 09:00 BST

Detectives are appealing for information following a robbery in Bootle on Sunday, 19 May.

At around 9.15pm, two males were reported to have approached a female in her 30s on Litherland Road. One of the males showed her an unknown silver coloured item in his waistband, and demands were made for cash. A small amount of cash was stolen, before the males made off towards Strand Road.

The males are described as riding together on a grey mountain bike. Both are described as white, slim and in their late teens, wearing dark clothing. One of them is described as having a pock-marked face.

Extensive CCTV and witness enquiries have been ongoing and detectives want to speak to anyone with information or who was in the area and saw anything suspicious.

Detective Inspector Catherine Walsh said: "Thankfully the victim was unharmed, but to be threatened in the street for the sake of a few pounds is difficult to comprehend. We have offered the victim reassurance and support and are determined to find those responsible and put them before the courts.

"If you were in the area of Litherland Road around 9pm on Sunday and saw two males matching this description, or noticed anything suspicious, let us know and we will act on all information provided.

“Were you driving past at this time? Please check dashcam or, if you live or work locally, any business or home CCTV footage, and come forward. Your detail may be the key to this investigation."

Anyone with information is urged to contact @MerPolCC, call 101 with reference 19100254372 or @CrimestoppersUK anonymously on 0800 555 111.
