News   •   Sep 01, 2019 13:27 BST

We are appealing for information following a robbery in Norris Green this morning, Sunday, 1 September.

At around 6.30am, it was reported that three men with their faces covered and in possession of hammers made threats to a delivery driver at Bargain Booze on Broadway. They made off with a quantity of tobacco and left the scene in a white van. The delivery driver was left shaken but thankfully uninjured.

CCTV, forensic and witness enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact police.

Detective Inspector Cath Haggerty said: "I would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or has dashcam or CCTV footage to please get in touch. It is believed the offenders turned left at the roundabout as they left the scene and anything you may have seen could greatly assist the investigation.

“To have an incident such as this happen when you are carrying out your job is truly shocking and thankfully the victim was not injured.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact @MerPolCC, 101 quoting incident reference 19100492371 or @CrimestoppersUK."
