Appeal after serious collision involving motorbike in Birkenhead

We are appealing for information after a serious collision in Birkenhead this afternoon (Monday 12 August 2019).

Emergency services were called to Hoylake Road at its junction with Worcester Road just before 12.15pm.

It was reported a blue Skoda Fabia car was in collision with a red Yamaha Tracer motorbike, which had two males on board.

The rider, a man in his 20s, sustained serious head and leg injuries and has been taken to hospital for treatment. The pillion passenger was unhurt.

The driver and passenger of the Skoda car received treatment for minor injuries at the scene.

There are a number of road closures in place while emergency services deal with the incident and motorists are advised to avoid the area at this time.
