We are appealing for information following an incident in Speke this afternoon (Monday 29 July 2019).
A report was received shortly before 3.55pm that a man and woman had been assaulted on Alderwood Avenue.
The victims were reportedly stabbed before making their way on foot to Speke Police Station on Ganworth Road.
The man, in his 40s, had several stab wounds to his arm and torso, while the woman, also in her 40s, had sustained a stab wound to her right arm.
Both have been taken to hospital for treatment to their injuries.
The offender is described as being white, in his 30s, around 6ft tall. He had dark hair and was wearing grey shorts and a grey t-shirt.
Chief Inspector Phil Thompson said: “This incident occurred on a residential street and we believe a number of people may have seen or heard part of the incident. I would urge those individuals to come forward.
“Knife crime is simply unacceptable and this incident has again shown how destructive carrying a knife can be.
“CCTV, witness and forensic enquiries are ongoing and I would ask anyone with information, or possible dashcam footage from the area, to please get in touch. Your information could prove vital to the investigation.”
