Appeal after flats burgled in Liverpool

News   •   Mar 14, 2019 08:50 GMT

Detectives are issuing CCTV stills of a man following a burglary in Liverpool in an effort to identify the person responsible.

The incident was reported at 11.25am on 17 February after a burglar entered a residential property on Catharine Street, Liverpool.

The offender is believed to have entered through an insecure door sometime between 9.30-11.15am that day.

An untidy search of a number of flats within the property was then carried out, and three Apple Mac computers, jewellery, a guitar and bank cards taken. The cards are known to have been used a short time later to make payments in local shops.

Detective Inspector Paul Speight said: “We are issuing stills of this man as we believe he could have information about this burglary that would assist our investigation.

“If you are the man pictured, or recognise him, we urge you to contact police as soon as possible.

“We are also appealing for anyone who might have been offered the items described for sale since 17 February, or has seen similar items advertised locally or online, to get in touch so we can reunite them with their owners.

“We will act on all information provided, whether you choose to speak to police directly, or anonymously via Crimestoppers.”

DI Speight added: “I would like to remind people to keep their homes secure, and ensure doors and windows are locked when unattended. Please remember to be vigilant - burglars are opportunists so please don’t make it easy for them.

“If you would like more information about how to keep you and your property safe, visit www.merseyside.police.uk/advice-and-protection/ or contact your local crime prevention officer.”
